Nick Lachey's "What's Left Of Me"

Dear Nick Lachey,
Will you marry me?
Sincerely,
Abigail

If the world should ever fall apart around you
And if you're lost and barely breathing,
I will find you and carry you back home.
I won't forsake the only love I've ever known.

And I will wait however long it takes
Til you realize what you've been searching for
Was right here all along.

Okay, I understand that sentiment is easy to fake, but by all accounts, more than a little of his new album comes right out of his life. I swear to you, if Jessica Simpson's father is in fact the one responsible for ruining her marriage with Mr. Lachey, I will throttle him with my bare hands, I will and don't think I won't.

That said, the sentiment does get a little wearing by the end of the twelfth song. Still, What's Left Of Me is a great boy-band-sounding album with enough up-tempo pop to save it from sounding like 98 Degrees (Lachey's previous outfit, which was an actual boy band). You'll enjoy yourself while you're listening to it and then feel really depressed for the rest of the day for no apparent reason...

I'm confused- I don't remember you as being particularly concerned with the love lives of celebrities. Is that just because I'm not, and tuned you out on that?

Concerned with? No. I took a particular interest in Jessica Simpson because she's a pastor's kid who at one time claimed to be a Christian, and so I've read some interviews of her, and it seems that her father has an undue and unpastorly influence on her career and image. Like he seriously cares more about her career than her happiness. Then it happens that I really liked this particular Nick Lachey song and that inspired my ire.
